The Power of Vision On Your Mindset (Series)

As we approach the close of another year - 2024, this is the time when reflection and planning often take center stage, in preparation for a new year. I’m reminded of the power of vision. Not just any vision, but one that is acted upon, it is so clear, so purposeful, that it shapes your mindset, steadies your emotions, and fuels your determination.

My vision is rooted in brain health. It’s a non-negotiable commitment for everyone to understand, nurture, and protect the organ that drives every single aspect of our existence. It’s also deeply personal. I’ve faced the unimaginable—a #brainaneurysm that could have taken my life, my ability to think, and my ability to smile. But God…I’m grateful daily because it very nearly did, but thank God it didn’t.

Instead, it gave me a gift: a vision for living. This vision has not only carried me through dark moments but it has also lit my path forward, the path that I am walking daily.

How Vision Shapes Your Mindset

A clear vision doesn’t erase life’s challenges, but it reframes them. For me, it has been a guide, reminding me that despite not working at present, I continue to persevere and look forward to each new day.

My mind is in a good place. Why? Because I have a vision—one that I nurture daily. I'm either blogging, studying or working on opportunities to share this Brain Health message that I am extremely passionate about. Every day I ask myself (thanks to a friend) what can I do today to move the dial relating to Brain Health? What action can I take that will move me forward? Without a vision I would not be asking myself these questions. Without a vision I would not have something to look forward to.

This vision that has set my mindset. Every morning, I pray. I say affirmations that align with my goals. I listen to gospel music that fills my heart with hope and gratitude. These rituals are more than habits; they are the foundation of my peace of mind...

And that peace is priceless.

This is the mindset that keeps my smile intact, even in moments when life feels heavy. It’s what allows me to remain calm, composed, and focused on what matters.

What are you striving towards?

What can you do to help, support or make (not just money :-)) a difference to your neighbour, friends, family or even the world?

Have a vision. Take a moment to ask yourself: What do I truly want for my life, my mind, and my well-being? Once you have your answers, write it down, speak it aloud, commit to it and begin to live it.

Once I had a vision, a vision that I believed in, made practical and worked (and still working) on daily, my whole persona on day to day life and challenges encountered was different. They didn't (and don't) have the weight and impact it would have when you are not working towards something bigger.

Have a vision! Its good for the brain, your mindset and your overall #mentalhealth. Write down a vision that is bigger than your current circumstances. I have and its something great to work on and look forward to.

You don’t need to wait until January 1st to start. Begin today! Begin Now! Your brain deserves it, and so do you.

#IChoose to nurture my brain with purpose

#IChoose to live with clarity and gratitude

#IChoose to stretch even when its uncomfortable...because it will get uncomfortable!

Enjoy mulling over your vision, write it down and take the needed action.

You owe it to no-one else but yourself!
